Notes Zaelon-La'Hrr is the Celestial Name given to him by Doviuun when he came of age. It is honorific name, reflecting the acts he has taken during his life.
His energy wings are the type usually found on black Belief Kats, red instead of the blues found on grays or whites. His wings also have a different setup, appearing more like fins than they might on a different coloured Belief. His wings are fully flight capable, and can be used to block powers and abilities. When a physical attacker is phased through his wings, they'll find their energy levels severely drained and be lucky if they don't fall into immediate unconsciousness.
Born into a Pride made primarily of Slayers is not something all that common for Belief Kats. The Element is used to protecting itself from the manipulations of higher powers, so they tended to be more hesitant about entering into training and taking up arms against this new enemy. For the most part, Belief Kats chose to work behind the safety of the Border, choosing to instead help those of their own kind in their homeland. It was after an attempted attack on Doviuun that the Belief Kats changed their outlook. Not wanting their God to be caught up in another assault from the Shades, and those who worked for them, they gradually grew to make the move into the Slayer Ranks.
Zaelon was born into such a Pride, where all the members were required to be Slayers. For the most part, they were Offensive Class Slayers, and each had ties to different Guilds. Zaelon grew up with the knowledge of what it meant to be a Slayer, and chose to follow in the pawprints of the others. While he had not been chosen to enter the Offensive Class, that did not mean he couldn't become a powerful Slayer in his own right. Taking up training in the Scout Class, he was taught by Nanaruu how to control and manipulate his surroundings. A fast learner, and one to adapt quickly to changing environments, he past the training with high honors from Nanaruu who was quite impressed by his skill.
He was told not be too confident with his new powers, and then sent on his way. He joined up with Nefrashal's Guild, and used his powers to scout out areas and set up traps for the enemy. It was about three months into his life with the Guild that Zaelon suffered a devastating attack from a Shade Warrior who was formerly of the Belief Element. Seeking not only to kill, the Warrior had also apparently been assigned the task of separating Zaelon from his Guildmates.
Alone and isolated from all those he trusted, he found himself combating this Shade Warrior completely on his own. It didn't take a genius to know that the Warrior wasn't actually trying to kill him, and he became terrified when he discovered it was trying to herd him to a particular area full of bad vibes. He attempted to phase out of the Warrior's senses, wanting to get the heck out of this area that just screamed danger. It seemed to work - the Shade Warrior thought he had taken off somewhere and ran off somewhere to track him down again.
He was forced to wait until the Warrior was completely gone from sight before it was safe for him to move again, and that's when he definitely knew something was wrong. Thoughts were turning against him, he had an indescribeable urge to cut all the Strands of Fate he had with him, and it seemed like a blessing from above to just lay down and not fit this perfect entity that had appeared before him. Shimmery and glowing, he couldn't see what the creature truly looked like. And for a moment he wanted to tear out his eyes because he thought he wasn't worthy of looking upon this creature...
That's when Nefrashal's Guild found him again - standing before this shimmery mass that none of them could clearly see. As their own thoughts started to morph, it was Nefrashal who teleported them all as far from that area as she could. All completely shaken, but Zaelon more than the rest, they attempted to flee back to the safety of the Plateaus as soon as possible.
On their way back they found themselves running into two other Slayers who had seemingly been separated from their Guild. One of them was a Belief Kat, the other a Bacterium Kat. They were giving off a strange vibe, one that Nefrashal didn't trust in the least. She told them to get lost and find their own Guild on their own, or return to the Plateaus. Instead of doing so, the duo seemingly froze time for everyone but Zaelon.
The Belief, also a black but with purple and black wings instead of red, turned her oddly coloured yellow-on-red eyes upon him. She offered Zaelon a sickeningly sweet smile, before she had appeared in front of the Slayer. "Your eyes need to be more open, cub." Were the last words Zaelon heard before pain, pure agonizing pain, rushed through his left eye and flowed through the rest of his body. He remembers, vaguely, the strange duo vanishing from the area and the others yelling out in shock as he lost consciousness.
When he came to he was in the Mooncrypts, an area beneath the Orkana Plateau that made up their Healing Shrine. The Plateau Healer, who was known as Maethala, was the only one around. She informed the Slayer of the bad news, that due to recent developments that his Element was now banned from crossing the Border - something about active hunts seemingly taking place to capture Beliefs from the Shades. Already having experienced such a thing first hand, it came as no surprise to learn that others had suffered from similiar things - only others weren't as lucky.
It seemed the magical parasites that marked his blood would now prevent him from crossing the Border. His former Guild had remained by his side for a week, but were ordered back to battle. Nefrashal left her well wishes with Maethala, as did the others, but he never saw them again. It's rumored that a new recruit that Nefrashal's Guild took on was the one to bring the cursed artifact to the Orkana Plateau some weeks later.
Once healed to his fullest, Zaelon became aware of something most decidely wrong and different. Maethala had an impossible to read expression on her face when she told Zaelon that his Strands of Fate had been absorbed into his body, and that they were now swirling red and seeming to bleed through his one eye. She told him it seemed like someone had forced the energies of the Fates into his left eye, and he still to this day doesn't understand why.
When he was able to see his reflection he was greatly bothered by what he saw. He still had one white glowing eye, but the other had been changed to black, with swirling threads of red that made up a mockery of an iris. He also had strange red markings, almost like a spider's web, stretching out from the top and bottom of the eye. The only thing different that he's noticed since this change is that sometimes he can see things that aren't really there, seemingly ghosts of Kats he's never met immersed in conversations or tampering with the Inner Dimension's Gates. The flashes come and go at random, and none of them seem to ever make proper sense.
As he was trained as a Scout Class Slayer he'll probably introduce himself as such, but he's unable to actually pass through the Border. He still retains all his powers as a Scout, his ability to just drop off the face of the planet to the senses of large groups still as good as it's ever been. He also still carries with him the same silver weaponry he always has - the silver needs he hides in the brown wraps on his legs, and the silver blades on his forelegs. He's quite efficient at using them; his aim impeccable, knowing where he needs to hit opponents to disable muscles and the like.
